About WaveSave
WaveSave is a Dutch water-resilience company based in Eindhoven, founded in 2017. We make SLAMDAM, a water-filled mobile flood barrier tested by TÜV Nederland, Deltares and NAHRIM, and we deliver flood early warning, nature-based solutions, drought control and water data services. Our projects, with partners such as UNEP, the African Development Bank and the Adaptation Fund, help communities in Africa, Asia, the Pacific and Europe protect themselves against floods and droughts.
What you will do
- Prepare spatial data for water projects: terrain, land use, rivers and infrastructure.
- Delineate watersheds and map flood risk, combining flood hazard with the buildings, roads and people exposed to it.
- Support flood simulations and the tools we use to plan where barriers go.
- Produce clear maps and visualisations for clients, partners and communities.
- Work closely with our hydrologists and project managers.
Who you are
- At least a master’s degree in GIS, geography, earth sciences or a related field.
- Preferably at least five years of experience with GIS in water, environmental or infrastructure projects.
- Skilled in common GIS software, such as QGIS or ArcGIS.
- Fluent in English; French is an advantage.
- Willing to make occasional site visits to projects in various countries.
What we offer
- A remote position: you work from the country where you live.
- Employment for 40 hours per week.
- Occasional site visits to our projects in various countries.
- Work that helps communities become resilient to floods and droughts.
