Climate Adaptation Solutions at COP31 Türkiye

WaveSave will attend COP31 in Türkiye and contribute through a series of presentations at partner stands, including planned sessions at U.N. and African Development Bank spaces, according to your current participation plan. Rather than exhibiting from a dedicated booth, WaveSave will use COP31 to engage directly with decision-makers and showcase practical climate adaptation solutions for flood protection, water storage and resilient water management.

COP31 will take place in Antalya, Türkiye, from 9 to 20 November 2026. The conference will be hosted by the Government of Türkiye at the Antalya EXPO Center in Soğucaksu, and the official UNFCCC participant page is already live.

About COP31 in Türkiye

COP31 is the 31st session of the Conference of the Parties to the UNFCCC, alongside CMP21 and CMA8. The official “Road to Antalya” page says the conference is being prepared through an open, transparent and inclusive process, with regular engagement of Parties and observers during 2026.

UNFCCC also states that COP31 will bring together not only governments and negotiators, but also a wider ecosystem of cities, regions, businesses, investors and civil society. That matters for WaveSave, because COPs are not only negotiation spaces; they are also places where practical solutions are presented, discussed and connected to implementation pathways.

Why WaveSave is participating

WaveSave’s presence at COP31 is about relevance, not visibility for its own sake. Climate discussions increasingly need solutions that can move beyond policy language and into real-world deployment. WaveSave’s portfolio is built around that transition: from risk awareness to practical implementation.

At COP31, WaveSave will highlight solutions that respond to water-related climate risks in both high-income and developing-country contexts. These include SLAMDAM for temporary flood protection, water storage approaches for drought resilience, WaveCore for data-driven decision support, early warning systems, smart irrigation, and nature-based solutions for integrated resilience planning.

What WaveSave will present

WaveSave will use its presentations to show how climate adaptation becomes tangible when technologies are practical, scalable and easy to integrate into existing systems.

SLAMDAM – mobile flood protection

SLAMDAM is a water-filled mobile flood barrier designed for rapid deployment. It helps protect infrastructure, communities and productive land during flood events, while reducing the logistical burden associated with traditional emergency barriers.

Water storage and drought resilience

Water storage is not only a drought issue. It is also part of flood risk management. Capturing and managing excess water can reduce downstream pressure during extreme rainfall and improve water availability during dry periods.

WaveCore, early warning and integrated resilience

WaveSave will also present how data and decision support can strengthen adaptation outcomes. This includes WaveCore, early warning approaches, and integrated systems that connect monitoring, preparedness and operational response.

Why this matters at COP31

The official UNFCCC process around COP31 is already framed around stronger implementation and broader participation. The incoming presidency has emphasised ambitious outcomes, while the appointment of a Climate High-Level Champion reflects the continued importance of non-state climate action alongside formal negotiations.

That makes COP31 a relevant place for WaveSave. The company’s work sits exactly at the point where policy goals need operational solutions: flood barriers that can be deployed, water systems that can be managed, and resilience tools that can support authorities before, during and after climate shocks.

Presentations instead of a booth

WaveSave’s approach for COP31 is deliberately selective. Without a stand of its own, the company can focus on targeted dialogue and curated presentations. That format fits the way many high-value COP conversations happen: through partner spaces, thematic discussions and solution-focused sessions rather than stand traffic alone.

At the same time, it is important to be clear about what is and is not yet public. As of 1 April 2026, the official UNFCCC participant page says information on side events and exhibits is still “coming soon,” and Blue Zone and Green Zone information is being published progressively through the official presidency channels.
