About the LAC NDE Forum

The LAC NDE Forum is organised by the Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN), the implementation arm of the UNFCCC Technology Mechanism. The forum connects National Designated Entities (NDEs), which act as national focal points for climate technology.

The 2026 edition focuses on:

  • Technology transfer and innovation
  • Climate resilience and system transformation
  • Strengthening collaboration across Latin America and the Caribbean

Around 30 countries will be represented, creating a platform for dialogue, knowledge exchange, and partnership development.

The CTC Network Fair: Direct Engagement with Decision-Makers

A key part of the forum is the CTC Network Fair, a curated matchmaking session where selected organisations present their solutions directly to NDEs.

The format includes:

  • Short, focused solution presentations
  • Rotating discussions every 15 minutes
  • Direct interaction with government representatives

This structure allows WaveSave to:

  • Present its flood resilience solutions in a targeted setting
  • Receive direct feedback from national stakeholders
  • Explore concrete collaboration opportunities

Showcasing Practical Flood Resilience Solutions

At the Network Fair, WaveSave will present solutions designed for real-world application:

SLAMDAM – Mobile Flood Barrier: A water-filled, rapidly deployable system for temporary flood protection, suitable for urban areas, infrastructure, and emergency response.

WaveCore – Data Analytics and Services: A platform supporting decision-making through data insights, helping stakeholders better understand water risks and optimise interventions.

Together, these solutions address both:

  • Immediate flood response
  • Long-term water management and resilience planning

Why This Event Matters

The LAC region faces increasing challenges related to flooding, water management, and climate adaptation. The forum provides a platform where:

  • Governments define their technology priorities
  • Solutions are matched to real needs
  • Partnerships are formed to enable implementation

For WaveSave, participation strengthens its role as a partner that combines:

  • Practical deployment solutions
  • Data-driven insights
  • International collaboration

From Dialogue to Implementation

Beyond visibility, the event focuses on translating discussions into action. The forum aligns with broader UN climate initiatives that emphasise:

  • Technology deployment
  • Capacity building
  • Integrated system transformation

This creates opportunities for solutions like SLAMDAM and WaveCore to contribute to national and regional climate strategies.
